LONDON - POLICE charged a science teacher on Friday with the attempted murder of a 14-year-old student who was found unconscious in a pool of blood after apparently being hit in the head with a heavy metal weight.
Nottinghamshire Police said Peter Harvey, 49, is charged with attacking Jack Waterhouse at All Saints Roman Catholic Comprehensive School on Wednesday.
The boy has been hospitalised in a special head injury unit and was in stable condition with serious head injuries. Two other students were also injured during the classroom confrontation.
Head teacher Maureen Cobbet said the school would not comment specifically on the incident.
'At this time our thoughts and prayers are with Jack Waterhouse, his family and all those who have been affected by this event.'
