TEHRAN - IRAN'S Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has confirmed he will not go to Italy for the Group of Eight meeting, the ISNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
'I have no plans to go to Italy,' Mr Mottaki said.
His Italian counterpart Franco Frattini said Rome had decided to withdraw the invitation to the meeting opening in Trieste on Thursday after Tehran failed to respond.
However, Iran is expected nevertheless to be in the spotlight at the G8 foreign ministers meeting over the turmoil in the country following the disputed June 12 presidential election. -- AFP
