Risk of import into Singapore elevated. Isolated imported cases may occur but there is no sustained transmission.

SUSPECTED AND CONFIRMED CASES

Deaths: Global total of 117  

Confirmed cases: WHO says 46 countries have reported nearly 20,000 cases, mostly in the US and Mexico.

KEY DEVELOPMENTS

Singapore saw it's first probably local case, sparking fears of a community spread. 11 new cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 77.

Hong Kong saw a jump in infections, taking its total to 221 confirmed cases.

A Saudi cleric also spoke out against any possibility of a travel ban against the annual Muslim pilgrimage, the haj.
