Man planned wife's rape online
KANNAPOLIS (North Carolina) - POLICE have arrested a man and accused him of using the online advertising service Craigslist to enlist another man to rape his wife.

The 25-year-old husband faces first-degree rape and other charges.

The Associated Press is not naming the man to avoid identifying his wife, a victim of sexual assault.

The man was arrested after police responded to an emergency call early on Sunday. On it, the woman said a man armed with a knife assaulted her in her home. Police say the woman's husband was in the room.

Police say the husband arranged the rape using online ads. Police say the identity of the rape suspect is being investigated.

The wife was treated at a hospital. -- AP
