ANKARA (Turkey) - THE governor of a western Turkish province says eight patients receiving intensive care died of smoke inhalation and other causes after a fire struck a hospital.

Gov Sahabettin Harputlu of Bursa province says all eight patients had been treated at the intensive care unit of the Sevket Yilmaz hospital. Mo He says a short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire, which was fully extinguished. -- AP
