H1N1 FLU OUTBREAK
New cases in Sweden, Britain
STOCKHOLM - A GOVERNMENT health agency says it has confirmed Sweden's third case of swine flu.

The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control said Saturday the latest victim is a woman in her 60s who recently visited the US city of San Diego, California, which lies only miles from the Mexican border.

The United States and Mexico have been the hardest-hit countries in the swine flu epidemic.

The woman is now fully recovered after experiencing only minor symptoms.

Sweden's first swine flu victim was confirmed on May 6 and a second on May 10. The health agency says there are no links between the three cases.

Over in Britain, officials have confirmed two more cases of swine flu, bringing the total in the United Kingdom to 87.

The Health Protection Agency said Saturday that 47 of those cases are in London.

The two latest cases are both in adults, one from the southeast region that includes London and the other from eastern England.

The agency said one was a returning traveler, but did not say from where, and the source of the other infection is still under investigation. -- AP
