Body parts across countryside
LONDON - ONE by one, body parts from the same man have been turning up across the English countryside. Police say they're investigating a murder, but have yet to identify the victim.

The mystery came to light on March 22 after a left leg was found in a travel bag near a highway in the village of Cottered, 40 miles (65 kilometres) north of London.

On March 29, an arm - cut off at the elbow and the wrist - was found on the edge of a road in the village of Weathampstead, 15 miles (24 kilometres) southwest of Cottered.

Two days later, on a farmer in found a head in his field in Asfordby, 85 miles (140 kilometres) north of both locations.

Post-mortem examinations have confirmed that the body parts belonged to the same man.

Since then, more body parts have turned up: a right leg was found near a bypass in Hertfordshire, to the north of London, on April 7, and on Saturday a part of torso was found not far away.

Police in Hertfordshire said on Sunday that the latest discovery was likely linked to the murder investigation, although it was too early to say for sure.

Officials have been unable to give a precise physical description of the man but say he suffered from eczema. -- AP
