COPENHAGEN - DANISH Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has decided to postpone the appointment of his new cabinet for a few days and potentially until after Easter, he told reporters on Monday.
'It doesn't have to be in place today or tomorrow,' Lokke Rasmussen said, adding that his deadline was after the Easter holidays, which end on April 14.
Finance Minister Lokke Rasmussen became Denmark's prime minister on Sunday, replacing his namesake Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who was appointed NATO chief.
Lokke Rasmussen is free to appoint a new ministerial team although he said he would not make many changes.
Analysts tip the Liberal Party's chief strategist and current Employment Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen, as new finance minister.
The Welfare Ministry also needs a new head after Karen Jespersen resigned on Friday. The Welfare Ministry is a merger of the interior ministry and the social affairs ministry.
Analysts expect the large ministry to be divided, and that new ministers will be selected. -- REUTERS
