Biden to go to Latin America
WASHINGTON - US VICE President Joe Biden will travel to Chile and Costa Rica March 27-30 to consult with Latin leaders ahead of next month's Summit of the Americas, the White House said on Friday.

Biden will attend a conference on 'progressive governance' in Chile where he will meet the presidents of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, as well as the prime ministers of Britain and Norway, the White House said.

He also will hold bilateral talks with Chile's President Michelle Bachelet.

In Costa Rica, Biden will meet with Central American presidents at a gathering hosted by President Oscar Arias.

Biden will use the meetings to sound out regional leaders on the upcoming Summit of the Americas, which is scheduled for mid-April in Trinidad and Tobago, the White House said. -- AFP
