HOUSTON - BARBARA Bush, mother of President George W. Bush, will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after undergoing surgery to treat a perforated ulcer, according to the hospital.
Mrs Bush, 83, underwent laparoscopic surgery on Nov 25 at Methodist Hospital in Houston after complaining of abdominal pain.
The wife of former President George H.W. Bush and father of the president 'is in good condition and is recovering as expected,' the hospital said in a statement.
During the procedure, surgeons cleaned her abdominal area, then patched and closed a 1 cm (3/8 inch) hole in her stomach caused by the ulcer. -- REUTERS
