BERLIN - A GERMAN court says former Red Army Faction leader Christian Klar can be released from prison in January after having served the minimum 26 years of a life sentence for multiple murders.
A ruling by the Stuttgart state court says 56-year-old Klar will remain on probation for five year from his Jan 3 release date.
Klar was convicted of involvement in the murders of nine people for the leftist terrorist organisation called the Red Army Faction, including West Germany's top prosecutor in 1977, Siegfried Buback.
Court spokesman Josefine Koeblitz says the court ruled on Monday that there were no grounds to keep Klar in custody any longer. -- AP
