TOKYO - A MODERATE 4.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the Tokyo region on Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. There were no immediate reports of damage.
The tremor struck at 7.17am (6.17am Singapore time) in Chiba prefecture, east of the Japanese capital, at a depth of 80 kilometres, the agency said, noting that there was no risk of a tsunami.
The earthquake could be felt in the heart of the capital.
