SYDNEY - AUSTRALIAN police and customs officials say they have seized 660 kilogrammes of pseudoephedrine that was imported to the country in fruit juice containers from Thailand.
Four men have been charged with importing pseudoephedrine, which is commonly used to make amphetamine drugs such as Ice and Ecstasy.
A Friday statement by law enforcement agencies says the pills were found in a shipping container that arrived in Sydney last week.
The operation comes just a week after Australian Federal Police and the Customs Service announced the world's largest seizure of Ecstasy.
Nearly 4.4 metric tonnes of Ecstasy - which triggers the pleasure chemical serotonin in the brain - was discovered in a shipment from Italy. -- AP
