WASHINGTON - UNITED States President Barack Obama will sign the newly passed US$787 billion (S$1.2 trillion) economic stimulus package on Tuesday in Denver, Colorado, officials said on Saturday.

The measure, aimed at combating the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s, marks Mr Obama's first major victory in Congress less than a month after taking office.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has told patrons that it would be the site of the signing.
