The Airbus A330-300A flying from Singapore to Perth experienced a sudden change in altitude, leaving 36 passengers and crew injured, some seriously. It was diverted to Learmonth airport near Exmouth, about 1,300 km north of Perth.
About 15 people suffered 'serious injuries,' including fractures and severe lacerations.
In response to media queries, the Singapore's MFA said: "As at 5.30 pm today, there has been no reports of Singaporeans having been injured.
'MFA and our High Commission will render the necessary assistance should there be Singaporeans affected.'
Singaporeans can call the MFA 24-hour duty office hotline at +65 63798800 or the emergency contact number of the High Commission in Canberra at +61 414733944 should they have queries about their next of kin onboard flight QF72.
The terrifying incident was the latest in a series of incidents that have tarnished the safety record of Qantas, which has long boasted a reputation of being one of the world's safest airlines.
