ANJI (China) - BIG-HITTING Australian Kurt Barnes Friday shot a four-under-par 68 to go 13-under and hold a two-stroke lead after the second round of the Dongfeng Nissan Teana Open on the Omega China Tour.
Korean teenager Eom Jae-Woong shot a 66 for an 11-under 133, one ahead of Chinese power-hitter Yuan Hao (70) at the Anji King Valley Country Club near Hangzhou.
National team amateur Kevin Huang Wenyi shot a second 68 to lie eight-under with Thailand's Pariya Junhasavasdikul, who shot a 67.
Li Chao (67), Australian Anthony Brown (71) and 20-year-old amateur Han Ren (70) share sixth on seven-under, one ahead of Thai legend Thaworn Wiratchant (68), He Shaocai (69) and Korean Lee Joung-Wook (70).
Barnes is targeting a second victory in three Omega China Tour events following his win at April's Sofitel Zhongshan IGC Open in Nanjing.
'I'm quietly confident, but I won't think about who wins till 4:00pm on Sunday,' said Barnes, who hit a Tour-record opening 63 in the first round of the inaugural 700,000 yuan (102,000 dollar) competition.
'The course is set out great for me. I'm playing well and if I can break 70 on Saturday and Sunday, then someone will have to play well to beat me.' -- AFP
