LIONEL Khoo of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) capped an impressive peformance at the 50th Milo National Inter-School Swimming Championships on Wednesday afternoon when he rewrote his C Boys 50 metres breaststroke record.
The 14-year-old finished his 50m final in 30.27 seconds, eclipsing the 30.81sec mark that he set in the heats last week.
And the winners are...
RI (JC) won the A Boys division title after finishing with a total of 239 points, while Anglo-Chinese JC finished a distant second with 111 points.
ACS-I was third with 100 points. ACS-I claimed both the B and C Boys' titles, with a total of 167 points and 226 points respectively.
Later, he combined with his schoolmates in the freestyle relay to win the race in 1min 43.02sec, erasing Raffles Institution's 2006 record of 1:43.89.
Lionel's two records on Wednesday gave him six records in total for the Championships which ended on Wednesday.
He broke the C Boys 100m breaststroke mark last week, and helped his school to break the C Boys 4x50m medley relay record twice - in the heats and the final.
The crowd at the Singapore Sports School also witnessed three more meet records being broken on Wednesday.
Raffles Institution (Junior College)'s Ng Jia Hao clocked 1:05.16sec in the A Boys 100m breast stroke to break the 1: 05.80 mark he set in the heats.
RIJC also splashed its way to a new record in the A Girls 4x50m free style relay. They won it in 1:52.20sec, going under the meet record of 1:53.04.
In the B Girls 100m back stroke final, Shana Lim of Hwa Chong International School finished in 1:03.96sec to erase the meet record of 1:04.64, set by Tao Li in 2007.
In total, 24 meet records came crashing down at this year's Inter-School Swimming Championships.
