LONDON - ARSENAL'S Andrei Arshavin scored four goals in a pulsating 4-4 draw at Anfield on Tuesday to dent Liverpool's Premier League title push.

The Russian, Arsenal's record signing, appeared to have won an incredible contest for the visitors after a lightning counter-attack in the 90th minute only for Yossi Benayoun to grab a stoppage-time equaliser for Liverpool.

Liverpool returned to the top of the table on goal difference from Manchester United but the champions have two games in hand starting at home to Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Arshavin gave Arsenal a 1-0 halftime lead, but Liverpool quickly turned it around after the break with Fernando Torres and Benayoun giving them a deserved lead.

Liverpool were stunned by another two crackers from Arshavin before Torres made it 3-3 and the drama continued to the final whistle on a breathless night. -- REUTERS
