HOBART (Australia) - AUSTRALIAN maxi yacht Wild Oats XI won the Sydney to Hobart yacht race here on Sunday.
Wild Oats XI captured line honours for a record fourth consecutive year in the 64th blue-water classic.
The 30-metre maxi crossed the finishing line in the Tasmanian capital at 9.34 am (6.34 am Singapore time), but was outside the record race time.

The yacht set the race record of one day 18 hours 40 minutes 10 seconds set in its 2005 win.
But this year it did not have a major international maxi to compete against, with the ongoing Volvo Ocean Race depriving the Australian event of some powerful overseas entrants. -- AFP
