FENG Tianwei is Singapore's new No. 1 paddler, according to the latest women's world rankings released by the International Table Tennis Federation.
The 22-year-old is now ranked sixth in the world, overtaking compatriot Li Jiawei following her win at the Polish Open last weekend.
This also makes her the highest-placed paddler that is not representing China, whose players occupy the top five slots.
Li is ranked seventh in the world, while Singapore's Wang Yuegu is eighth.
Feng, who helped win a silver medal for Singapore in the women's team event at the Beijing Olympics, became a citizen only in January this year.
In Warsaw last Sunday, she won her first professional title after beating Wang in the final of the women's singles event.
