NATIONAL keglers Remy Ong added won his second gold medal at the IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Thursday.
This time, he partnered Jazreel Tan to win the mixed doubles event.
Earlier, he had struck gold in the men's doubles event with Shaun Ng.
Ong was red-hot with a six-game average of 248 pinfalls, but Jazreel was no slouch either.
The 19-year-old even came close to scoring the first perfect game of the tournament at Dundonald International Ice Bowl, when she downed 289 pinfalls in her fourth game.
Together with Ong's 268, the duo's total of 557 in that game rewrote the one-game mixed doubles record of 518 set two editions ago.
Ong said: 'The pair of lanes that we shot 550-plus was like 'wow', but then Jazzy had some trouble on the next pair so we just tried to help each other.'
The pair finished with a combined total of 2,778.
That was 12 pinfalls more than closest rivals Malaysia's Muhd Nur Aiman and Sin Li Jane.
Jazreel was quick to credit her partner after the win.
She said: 'Remy helped keep me calm, and encouraged me.'
Malaysia's other pairing of Syakirah Yeoh and Syafiq Ridhwan were third with 2,656.
Following the win, Singapore lead the overall medal tally with two golds and two silvers.
Earlier, Singapore won the men's doubles, while Jazreel picked up her second silver in the women's doubles with Jennifer Tan.
With the team event to come, Ong is determined to share more success with his teammates.
'I always hope to bring back a team gold - then everyone comes home with it,' said Ong. 'Right now, my team is looking good!'
