Delivery man jailed for road rage
By Elena Chong, Courts Correspondent

A DELIVERY driver was jailed for eight weeks on Monday for punching a motorist in a road rage case more than three years ago.

Goh Ping Jet, 30, admitted to hurting Mr Tan Wai Wah, 45, at a slip road from Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 into the Central Expressway on Feb 6, 2006.

The court heard that Mr Tan was driving along the right lane of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 that evening when he filtered to the left without realising that Goh's lorry was on his left.

As a result, Goh had to jam brake to avoid a collision. He trailed Mr Tan's car until the slip road and cut into the victim's lane.

Before Mr Tan could say anything after alighting from his car, Goh punched him all over his body repeatedly before leaving.

Goh, who has convictions for fighting and harassment, could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $1,000.
