Eye specialist drowns
He suffered difficulties on routine dive despite 7 years of experience

AN EYE specialist with seven years of diving experience under his belt died on Saturday after a routine dive at a popular Malaysian dive site.

Dr Marcus Lim, 37, a registrar with the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), drowned while diving with 13 others in the waters off Pulau Aur - an offshore island in eastern Malaysia known for its rich coral reefs and numerous shipwrecks.

He had left Singapore on Friday night with the group and reached the popular dive spot the next morning.
