Parent task force formed

NO PARENT likes to be clueless about educational issues.

As for the Ministry of Education (MOE), it wants to see greater engagement by parents in school matters.

Hence, a new body was set up this year to achieve these objectives.

Called the Parent Ambassador Taskforce, its members come from Compass, or Community and Parents in Support of Schools.

Members of Compass comprise parents, self-help groups, school alumni and the business community. They meet MOE officials a few times a year.

Ms Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for Education and National Development, referred to the task force on Saturday at the Compass Convention.
