A 38-YEAR-OLD hawker has been jailed for 18 years and ordered to be caned 24 strokes for sexually assaulting his teenage daughter.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the girl's identity, pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts of rape and one count of molestation. Another three molestation counts were taken into account during sentencing.
The offences were committed in the girl's bedroom in June and July last year.
On July 28, while she was in class, the girl, now 14, doodled on a piece of paper, expressing her disgust at what her father had done to her.
Her best friend suggested they tell an adult and eventually, the school principal and counsellor took the girl to make a police report.
