3 more victims in S'pore

THREE more injured victims of Friday's bombings in Jakarta arrived in Singapore on Saturday for further treatment at local hospitals.

According to International SOS, the victims arrived on separate flights and all were escorted by teams of medical experts from the international outfit which provides emergency evacuation service.

One of the injured is a Singaporean who arrived on a commercial flight at 9.20am, accompanied by a doctor and was admitted to a private hospital.

The second patient is a Dutchman who arrived after midnight on an air ambulance accompanied by a doctor and a nurse.

The third victim is an American male who also arrived on an air ambulance after midnight.

Singapore International SOS also helped arranged the hospital admission of an Australian victim who flew to Singapore on her own.

As of Saturday morning, six victims of the Jakarta bombings have been admitted to hospitals here.

The first two victims, who were flown here on Friday night, were an Indonesian and an American.

International SOS said several more patients were expected to arrive in Singapore in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Singapore's Foreign Affairs Ministry said as of noon on Saturday, there was still no confirmed report that one of the casualties in the bombings at JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels in the Indonesian capital was its citizen. -- BERNAMA
