Biggest health fair on at Suntec
By June Cheong

HEALTH & You, the largest health and wellness exhibition in Singapore, is back for a fifth year this weekend.

The two-day event showcases health products and services for everyone in the family, and aims to dispense information on clean and healthy living in a fun and interactive way.

Games and competitions will be run, and over $50,000 in gifts and prizes - from a massage chair to shopping vouchers - will be given away. More than 100,000 visitors are expected to turn up.

The event, to be opened by Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan at 9.30am on Saturday, is organised by The Straits Times' Mind Your Body and Lianhe Zaobao and presented by Nestle Singapore.

The food manufacturer released the results of its biannual consumer perception study on nutrition, health and wellness yesterday at the opening ceremony of Nestle@Health & You.

The online survey of 300 people found that health was at the top of the list of Singaporeans' concerns, unlike in 2007 when the top concern was economic stability.

Survey participants also revealed that freshness was now their top consideration when buying food and groceries.

The survey further reported that 95 per cent of respondents were aware of the 'Healthier Choice' symbol on food products, and 75 per cent of them looked for the symbol when buying groceries.

The exhibition is held at Suntec Singapore Exhibition Hall 401 to 403. Opening hours are from 10am to 9pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 8pm on Sunday.

Nestle Singapore will occupy at least one entire hall. Other health and wellness companies such as Osim, Panasonic, OTO, Salonpas and Eu Yan Sang have set up 116 booths.
