PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong called Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday afternoon to congratulate him on his impressive performance at Wednesday's presidential election.
'Both leaders acknowledged that bilateral relations are currently very good,' said a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
'Prime Minister Lee said that he looked forward to continue working with President Yudhoyono to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.'
Mr Yudhoyono looks set to be re-elected for a second term, with unofficial early counts showing he has won around 60 per cent of Wednesday's vote, beating ex-president Megawati Sukarnoputri and incumbent Vice-President Jusuf Kalla without the need for a runoff election.
