AN UNEMPLOYED man was charged in court on Thursday with attempted extortion by threatening to release a woman's obscene photo if he was not given $3,000.
Allan Khoo Wen Bo, 24, is alleged to have committed the offence at a hotel room in Bencoolen Street on Monday by putting the 21-year-old woman in fear of a certain injury.
He was remanded. The case will be mentioned on July 16.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of two to five years and caning.
