THE RSS Victory of the Republic of Singapore Navy's Missile Corvette Squadron had many new crew members on board this year, but that did not stop it from landing the 'Best Ship' award.

To get the rookies in sync with the operations, 21/2 intensive weeks of drills and sea exercises were held.

This paid off, with the ship scoring top marks in a readiness condition inspection in February, propelling this win.

It is the fifth time it has clinched the award, which it last won in 2000.

Commissioned almost 20 years ago, the Victory is built for multi-dimensional warfare, including air and surface warfare.
