ABOUT half of the current members of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) are being replaced, as part of the corporatisation of Changi Airport.
With effect from July 1, CAAS will be split into two - one part to run the airport and the other to regulate the industry.
Last October, it was announced that Mr Liew Mun Leong, who is current chairman of the CAAS board will helm the new corporate entity to be set up, while Mr Lee Hsien Yang will head the regulatory authority.
The Transport Ministry on Monday named the other board members who will join Mr Lee, who is now a non-executive director and chairman of Fraser and Neave, and was group chief executive officer of SingTel until March 2007.
There will be four new faces:
- Mr Khoo Chin Hean, executive director, Energy Studies Institute
Aside from Mr Liew, other existing members stepping down are Mr Mike Barclay, chief executive officer of Sentosa Development Corporation, Mr Steven Lee, a deputy chief ececutive officer at DHL, Mr Lee Liat Cheng, chairman and chief executive officer of Anglo-French Travel Pte Ltd, and Mr Lim Kim Choon, outgoing CAAS director-general and chief executive officer.
