THE world's tallest indoor Via Ferrata wall has made its home in Singapore.
And it is located at an unusual place - the new Orchard Central shopping mall.
The climbing wall, which stands at a height of 30 metres or 5-storeys, was officially opened to the public on Thursday.
Via Ferrata - Italian for 'iron way' - was brought into Asia by BorderX, a company founded by climbing enthusiasts. Previously it was available only in Europe.
What sets this sport apart from other climbing sports is that climbers scale rungs instead of rocks.
Via Ferrata is also considered safer than unprotected climbing and scrambling, as it makes use of a fixed protection path. Interested in climbing the wall? It will cost between $30 to $35 for a two-hour climb, depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend.
