Pump prices rise again
PUMP prices have gone up again, in the latest of a series of price hikes over the past few months.

Charges for 95- and 98-octane petrol went up by four cents per litre, and they now cost $1.767 and $1.87 respectively.

The price for 92-octane fuel remained unchanged, at around $1.637 to $1.687 per litre.

Shell, which has said it will stop selling 92-octane fuel by the end of the month, led the hike on Monday at around 12.30pm. ExxonMobil followed suit at 4pm.

Caltex and Singapore Petroleum Company also moved up their prices yesterday.

Since February, the price of 95-octane fuel has gone up by around 20 cents per litre, and 98-octane fuel by more than 15 cents.

The series of increases comes amid a global oil price hike, with a barrel peaking at US$71 recently, compared with US$50 in early May.
