LOVE is not only in the air, but also on bedsheets as part of a design created by disabled designer Yeo Jie Wee for bed and bath brand Aussino's latest collection.
In aid of a fundraising project by the Society for Physically Disabled, Mr Yeo and two other members have come up with a range of designs that will be featured on cushion covers, bedsheets, mugs, and towels.
Their products are being sold in all Aussino stores, and retail from $5 to $14.90.
Mr Yeo, 28, said his design which features the slogan 'Love is in the air' in bold was inspired by a friend's love story, who had met her husband online.
'She always has the word 'love' in her MSN chat nickname. I wanted to use that word to express my amazement at how they found each other,' said Mr Yeo.
The designers are part of the society's IT Apprenticeship Programme, which helps members find a job after training them to use industry tools.
For instance Mr Yeo, who has muscular dystrophy, has been trained in the use of Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and hopes to find a job designing digital graphics.
The society hopes to earn $100,000 from the sale of the Aussino products, which were created based on the themes of Hearts, Fruits, Leaves and Home. Another four designs are due to be released by November.
