Music festival SingFest is not happening in August this year.

A spokesman for organisers Midas Promotions says: 'The event is postponed to a later date which we'll announce once details are confirmed.'

The annual two-day music festival, which began in 2007, is one of the most anticipated dates for live music fans in Singapore. It was held in August the last two years.

Midas said last year that the event this year will be even bigger than previous instalments.

The past two SingFests have brought in popular contemporary international acts such as Pussycat Dolls, Alicia Keys and Jason Mraz, as well as music industry veterans like Rick Astley, Pet Shop Boys and Cyndi Lauper.

Last year's SingFest featured 36 international, regional and local acts who pulled in 17,000 music lovers to two stages in Fort Canning Park.

The inaugural event in 2007 at the same venue attracted only half the number.
