A PART-TIME delivery rider was on his way to deliver pizzas when he was killed in a road traffic accident last December.
At a coroner's inquiry into the death of Mr Lee Jit Loong, 25, on Dec 14, the court heard that the second-year Singapore Polytechnic student was making a right turn into Sin Ming Avenue from Upper Thomson Road when an SMRT bus collided into him.
Investigation showed that bus driver Lai Chai Kew, 62, who was named a potential defendant, was travelling along the extreme left of Upper Thomson Road towards Thomson Road when it hit Mr Lee's motorbike at the cross-junction with Sin Ming Avenue.
Mr Lee suffered multiple injuries as a result, and died about two hours later in hospital.
The court heard that it was highly probable that the light was green in favour of both the bus driver and motorcyclist when Mr Lee was making a right turn.
Mr Lai elected to remain silent.
State Coroner Earnest Lau recorded a misadventure verdict on Mr Lee's death.
