A STRUCK-OFF lawyer seeking re-admission to the Bar withdrew his bid while the court was still deliberating its decision, because it emerged that he had committed theft several years ago.
Mr Rick Tham, 53, had gone before the Court of Three Judges in February to ask to be allowed to practise again after having been banned since 1999.
But it later surfaced that he had a conviction in 2003 for shoplifting - something he did not reveal to the court when he sought to be reinstated.
