A song for hand washing
By April Chong

THE Health Promotion Board on Thursday launched a new ditty for pre-schoolers to teach them the correct way of washing their hands.

During the song launch held at My First Skool at Whampoa Drive, health minister Khaw Boon Wan joined the pre-schoolers in hand washing and health education lessons.

Copies (CDs) of the song will be distributed to every pre-school and childcare centre here.

Said HPB's chief Lam Pin Woon: 'The Washy Washy Clean song helps children to remember proper hand washing steps in a fun way.

'We hope that it will create a ripple effect in the family, and encourage other family members to adopt good hygiene practices to protect themselves against infectious diseases such as influenza and hand, foot and mouth disease.'
