THE first National Earthquake competition for secondary school students, was held at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) on Wednesday.
54 teams from 30 secondary schools entered the competition organised by SP's School of Architecture and the Built Environment.
The organising committee's chairman, Mr Loo Ching Nong, said the objective of the competition was to raise the awareness of designing earthquake resistant architecture among secondary students.
The winning team will go on a sponsored trip to Taiwan to take part in the Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) international competition.
