Sexuality in the classroom

AT A sexuality education workshop in Tanglin Secondary School recently, Secondary 4 student Chan Min Jia was told by her form teacher that she should say 'no' to pre-marital sex.

'He was quite open about it and injected his own views on the subject. He told us very firmly not to even think of trying it,' said Min Jia, 16.

These workshops are held during school hours. 'We learn about different forms of intimacy and how we shouldn't befriend strangers online. I found the classes quite useful and, in fact, I cheered with the class when the teachers told us not to have sex,' she said.
