SOME 5,000 sailors from 36 countries will be in town over the next two weeks, which could bring a bonanza for beleaguered hoteliers and retailers.
The naval personnel are here for the region's leading naval exhibition, which will start next week (May 12-14) at the Singapore Expo.
The International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Imdex) Asia is expected to pull in senior personnel from more than 35 navies and coastguards, including about 20 naval chiefs and about the same number of warships.
