A NEW parental control software that promises to let mums and dads monitor just about everything on their kids' online lives was launched on Thursday.
Symantec launched OnlineFamily.Norton, which tracks children's online activities on instant messaging such as MSN, social networks and even what they search for on sites like Google.
On social networks such as Facebook and MySpace, parents can monitor their children's activities, when and how often they log in, and how they represent themselves on the site.
They are also able to see what the kids are chatting about on instant messenging tools like MSN.
It comes right down to even knowing when the juniors are searching for on sites such as Google, Wikipedia and Youtube.
If teens are compromising their privacy and safety by sending out personal information to strangers, this can also be tracked and prevented via the software.
The control levels can be customised according to different age groups.
The software is available at http://onlinefamily.norton.com, for free download until Jan 1, 2010.
