ION Orchard, Singapore's latest mall which is slated to open in July, has started screening process to hire over 3,000 staff.
The mall above the Orchard MRT station is the latest outfit to tie up with the Work Development Agency (WDA) and the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), which match and train people for jobs required.
How it works: Screening by e2i will select job seekers appropriate for the service industry. Then, applicants are given a one-day-long 'pre-employment' training to prepare them for job interviews, conducted at networking sessions with the mall's tenants.
Since registration to attend the recruitment drive opened on April 13, more than 3,000 people have signed up. So far, three days into the six-day-long drive that started on Monday, some 500 of them have gone through the assessment rounds.
Registration ends at 11.55 pm on Thursday.
Interested job seekers can apply on-line through www.e2i.com.sg/events_ION_Orchard or call the e2i hotline on 6474-3777 between 9am and 6pm from Mondays to Fridays.
