SINGAPOREANS are not overly concerned with the threat of the H1N1 flu outbreak - judging by an online survey conducted by MSN recently.
The poll asked netizens: 'How worried are you about the latest swine flu threat?'
The response?
- 21 per cent of respondents are not worried at all. After seeing how Singapore handled Sars, they are confident that the government is ready this time round.
- 50 per cent are a bit nervous. Although they believe Singapore is well-prepared, they feel one can never be too sure about the resistance of the virus.
- 12 per cent said that they are not going to take chances and are staying away from hospitals and public places.
- 17 per cent think that it spells the end of the world as we know it.
Nearly 7,000 people took part in the survey. Respondents cannot do the same survey twice.
Wrapping up, MSN had this conclusion to make: 'Most respondents are quietly concerned about the virus, and as they should be. It's something dangerous and for that matter alone, should be dealt with seriously.'
