A CRANE was erected on Friday morning to stand by for the revovery of a crane, whose damaged arm is dangling precariously from the top of an uncompleted 36-storey condominium building at Ardmore Park.
It is the second of two which will help bring down the crane which snapped after its hooking block crashed to the ground at about 11.20 pm on Wednesday night in a strong wind storm.
The first recovery crane was erected through Thursday night.
The Ministry of Manpower is working with the contractor, Poh Lian Construction, to ensure safe removal of the damaged crane.
All work at the Wheelock Properties (Singapore) site has been halted, and Armore Park Drive will stay closed to traffic for a few more days.
MOM is currently conducting checks on all other cranes on the worksite. It also reminds all crane operators and users to conduct pre-operation inspections before using them.
