THE highly decomposed body found in a forested area off Sembawang Road last week has been identified as cabby Yuen Swee Hong, 58.

Police have arrested a suspect - a Chinese national - in connection to his death.

The 30-year-old suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday with murder, which carries the death penalty on conviction.

Mr Yuen was believed to have been robbed and killed.

It is understood that the Special Operations Command and the Police Dog Unit combed the area for clues for almost 15 hours after the grisly find.

Mr Yuen was one of the two bodies discovered last week.

The body of 35-year-old Bharat Singh was retrieved from the Singapore River opposite The Riverwalk complex on Sunday morning.
