TWO students attending The Straits Times Media Club's radio workshop on Friday went on air for the first time.
The 13-year-old pair, Divyata Lalit Raut of Tanjong Katong Girls' School and Ho Guojun of Pei Hwa Secondary School, were chosen from 127 students, from 15 secondary schools and one primary school, at the workshop.
Together with Radio 91.3FM deejay Jane Doe, they had their two minutes of fame on Non-stop Hits with Jane Doe at 4pm.
Divyata bantered about David Archuleta, the 2008 American Idol runner-up, while Guojun introduced the song that was played, Archuleta's Touch My Hand.
Divyata said: 'I was very excited as it was my first time on air. And I've always wanted to do this as I want to be a radio deejay.'
Guojun was cooler, 'not even one per cent nervous', although he had not expected to be chosen to play deejay. This was the year's second workshop for ST Media Club members.
