THE National Wages Council (NWC) is asking members of the public and organisations to give their views on wage-related issues as part of its annual deliberation.
The NWC issued revised guidelines in January, in light of the deteriorating economic situation from late 2008. The recommendations, which are in effect till end June, include wage freezes or wage cuts to help companies stay competitive and save jobs.
The council will start deliberating wage and wage-related guidelines for this year and next in May.
In its upcoming review, the NWC will consider factors such as the state of the economy and outlook, labour market conditions, productivity, as well as the measures taken to address the current downturn.
Members of the public and organisations can send their views, by April 30, to
