SINGAPOREANS travelling to Malaysia during the Good Friday holiday should expect heavy traffic at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.

Traffic build-up is likely to start on Thursday and last till Sunday.

Travellers are urged to avoid peak periods and maintain lane discipline. To minimise congestion, car-pools and the use of public transportation are encouraged.

Singaporean travellers with valid passports and who are registered with the National Registration Office can use the eIACS (Enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System) lanes at the Bus Halls for immigration clearance. The eIACS allows Singaporeans to clear immigration through automated lanes in as quickly as 12 seconds at no additional cost.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) reminded travellers to ensure that they are carrying their own passports and do not bring unlawful or prohibited goods into Singapore.
