Snatch thieves strike

TWO women fell prey to snatch thieves on the weekend.

In the first incident, a 59-YEAR-OLD woman lost her $100 gold necklace to a snatch thief on Saturday at 7pm.

She had entered the lift with an unknown man at the ground floor of Block 3, Telok Blangah Crescent. When she got out on the sixth floor, the man grabbed her necklace from behind and fled.

But she managed to recover her gold pendant that had fallen off during the struggle.

The man is described as short, plump and in his 30s. He has a tanned complexion and was dressed in bermudas and slippers.

In the second case, a woman tourist lost cash and valuables worth more than $250 to a snatch thief early on Sunday at 3am.

The Philippines national, who is in her mid 20s, was waiting for a cab along Fajar Road when a man walking towards her grabbed her clutch bag and ran off with with it.

She lost a cellphone, a passport and $250.

The man is described as slim-built and was dressed in black.
